It is with great sadness this week that we announce the recent passing of our very own, Jeff Bateman. Jeff was the Print Manager for Eagle since the beginning, establishing the print business of the company from day one and developing it into one of the market leaders in the UK. Jeff had over 40 years of experience in the print industry and was known and respected by many. We are genuinely lost for words to quantify our grief and a hole that now exists in our company which Jeff once filled. Please take a moment to read our tribute to Jeff and our condolences extend to his wife, Mary and his two sons, Ian and Tim. Rest in peace, Jeff – you will certainly be missed.
Elsewhere in our newsletter, this week Rory Davidson from Goswick Golf Club in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, has provided us with some tremendous responses to our usual set of questions in terms of the Golf Industry Profile. It seems that Rory has a mean 5 iron in the bag that can perform as good as a 2 iron when the wind gets up – you will just have to read on to find out more.
Continuing to gather momentum is the talk that we are expecting to hear some news shortly as to when golf clubs will be able to re-open. We appreciate that there will be practices and policies to adopt to support and facilitate the re-opening but this is extremely positive to hear and we are all keeping our fingers crossed as to receiving some good news soon.
Club Managers, Club Secretaries, PGA Professionals and Green Keepers up and down the country are already starting to prepare and plan for when the green light comes and clubs can officially re-open. Both Tacit and Eagle have a range of products that can help with re-opening – from sanitiser stations to products that can support, remind and define social distancing. Various websites have published advisory and guidance notes about how golf can be played when courses re-open and Tacit have some fantastic products here that can ensure existing flags and bunker rakes are never touched during the course of a round. We are all very much looking forward to golf being played again – most importantly, providing it is done safely for everyone concerned.
Stay safe, stay healthy and please take care,
From Everyone at Eagle.
